I rode out to Honeymoon Island this afternoon to enjoy the sunshine and get some exercise. It was 78 degrees and sunny.
The water was clear and cool.
There was a pretty good crowd for a weekday. There was some fog on the northern horizon.
I parked at bathhouse #3 and walked north until the crowd thinned out.
I had a long “to do” list waiting for me at home, but I couldn’t resist the beautiful weather.
I wish I could send some of our warmth and sunshine to my North Carolina friends and family.
The blue dot shows where I turned around on my beach walk.
A long barefoot beach walk is a good way to exfoliate your feet.
The ride back to the mainland via the Causeway Trail.
John got this picture from our morning causeway walk.
After our morning causeway walk, we stopped by Publix to pick up a few items, as we typically do.
I counted 25 bikers waiting to cross Curlew.
Safety in numbers.
Late this afternoon, we took Toby in the golf cart to Highlander Park.
We walked all the way to Harvard Avenue and to the edge of Hammock Park and back to the community center and the Fine Art Center.
The biggest event of the day is the arrival of John’s new Apple Watch. His doctor recommended it for monitoring his heart. It collects a months worth of data 24/7 that she can used to diagnose irregularities. It was easy to set up. It pairs with his iPhone and syncs his steps and other data automatically. I tried it on and was surprised how light it was. He used his watch this afternoon asking “Alexa” what the temperature was. Siri replied that he had his assistants confused.
It’s very cool. We’ll see if the novelty wears off or if it proves useful.
The Dunedin Parks and Recreation Department is having a heart health awareness event at the Dunedin Community Center. Wear red and you can visit the fitness center and attend group fitness classes all day, Feb. 3 for free.
I learned from the Dunedin newsletter that our street is scheduled to be paved Feb. 9-14, weather permitting. That’s 2 days before my family’s visit. Cutting it close. The milling is scheduled for Feb. 6-8; that’s where they grind up the top layer of asphalt. It’s going to be a mess.
Today’s bike routes to the causeway and then later to Honeymoon Island
Miles walked: 13.7
Miles biked: 16.96

78 for real. The high today was 43 with rain.
ReplyDeleteWe have friends from out of town coming to supper club this weekend and staying with us.
I cleaned out 2 closets and 2 drawers and then went upstairs to the attic. Found grandma Shirley’s blue plates which were meant for Stephanie. Sent her pics and she said yes. As I was moving them out of the attic, I dropped the box and 3 plates and a serving dish was broken. I was heartbroken. We still have 4 dinner plates and 3 salad plates. And then I found another set of dishes that she liked. I will have Jeff take them out of the attic.
I have a lot to go to goodwill. And I just started.
You and John look great. Love the photo of John and Toby. Today was rain and more rain. However this afternoon I managed to stay busy with a bathroom linen closet reorganization. This morning we cased out an Eye Center in Burlington Dad was referred to mid month. Then of course we went to Publix Dad loves shopping there. He is like a child in a candy store.
