We rode our bikes out to the causeway this morning to walk. We ran into this group of historical reenactment folks. They come out periodically to set sail to the island to camp dressed in historical garb.
They usually row to the island in a historically appropriate boat, but I didn’t see one when we passed by.
It’s a big production.
The rest of the walk was uneventful. We were both starving before it was over.
The wind on the way back and all the way home was blowing in our faces at 12 mph.
Toby had a big day. He got to ride in his golf cart three times: to Highlander Park, Stirling Park, and to Bambino’s Pizza.
At Stirling park, this evening it was beautiful. The temperature was 82 degrees at 4:30.
Toby got to run full speed to retrieve the balls.
Lots of fun, he said.
After we took him home to get water, we headed back out to Bambino’s to pick up a pizza.
The owner came out again with our pizza with a handful of pepperoni for Toby. He gobbled them in one huge bite.
The workers didn’t make much progress on our end of the street today.
They did paint a red line down the middle.
After lunch, we headed to Highlander Park. As we passed the Palm Cafe, the chef was outside speaking to guests who were eating on the patio. He had a few strips of bacon in his hand and wanted to give them to Toby. We said sure, who wouldn’t want bacon? Toby sat for the man and ate politely, unlike the pepperoni grab later in the day.
So, we all had a good day, but Toby had an exceptionally good day.

Loved the historical photos AND Toby running full throttle. Countdown is getting closer. Loved the schedule. A lot of work. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing ya’ll.
ReplyDeleteCool shot of Toby in the air.
ReplyDeleteLoved the Toby photos. I played indoor at Wake Forest which was fun. Took Courtney to her cancer Dr who is retiring. We shed a few tears as he touched her, heard her and looked her in the eye and then proceeded to tell
ReplyDeleteUs about his Dr. Friend who is a drummer in a heavy metal band who never wears his shirt and has two blue birds tattooed on his chest. He tried to find the pic and his PA was finally able to locate it by date on the Dr’s phone. And then the Dr. Told us about his wife getting in tangled with their dog and falling in their driveway at New Years. Broke her left arm which is her dominate arm. He tried to fix her hair with a curling iron because she could not. He tried but said her hair was sticking up and out in All directions before he suggested a ball cap.
So grateful for Dr’s who show empathy and kindness.
