Saturday

This sailboat caused the drawbridge to go up this morning at the beginning of our walk. We didn’t mind too much; the weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cool.

The high today was 83. We stayed inside mostly. Highlander Park and downtown were slammed with the Highland Games crowd. We could hear them cheering at the park from our house. We thought the Causeway would be less crowded because of the games, but it wasn’t. Snowbird season will soon be over and the crowds will diminish.

We worked with Toby a lot today. We have some new strategies as we assume our alpha dog roles.

We ate well today. We had Boar’s Head chicken sandwiches for lunch and a salad with Mahi Mahi on top for dinner. For snacks, we had blood oranges and smoothies.

I watered the batteries in the golf cart and washed it.

I did some yard work. I’m thinking about getting a leaf vacuum like I had at Blue Bottle. My research indicates that the Toro I had before is still the best. No battery operated vacuum is powerful enough to mulch, unfortunately, so it would involve using an extension cord, which is a pain. I’ll have to think it over.

Miles walked: 10.5
Miles biked: 5.59

  1. Mom and I love our battery leaf blowers but I wished I had purchased a bigger umph.

Bert’s sister and husband came over tonight and joined us on the porch. It was warm outside but the wind was fierce. Jeff grilled chicken and I fixed a yummy salad for dinner.

I get to go to WS tomorrow for a gardening class at Knollwood. Will stop by the house and pick up a few things.

Reading a great book remarkably Bright Creatures about an octopus and humans! It is wonderful.

  2. We had a rainy cool morning. However, afternoon brought sunshine. We have stayed close by just running a few errands since returning from our tour. Dad has had some cold symptoms so easy for him to stay in. The couple sitting in front of us on the tour bus also experiencing cold symptoms. Yard vac sounds interesting. Those magnolia leaves could be a full time job. We had a magnolia tree at the Panama City pastorium. I understand the upkeep.
