Friday

John encouraged me to try texturing the compound over the patch with a paint brush. I remembered that we had these texturing tools from when we painted our Dollar Avenue dining room in Durham. So I added some water to the spackle to make it soupy, then layered it on the patch. Then I used these brushes to get the orange peel texture we needed.

This is how it looks without the paint. Plus, I didn’t have to go to the hardware store or spend any money.

And with paint, not quite dry.

Closet hole patched and painted

I removed three motion detectors, pushed the wires in the holes, patched, and painted.

We ordered three more patches from Amazon to cover up the holes in the wall from the speakers/controls in the bedrooms and sunroom. The patches arrive Sunday.

We took Toby in the golf cart to Stirling Park after lunch. It was 82 degrees, but it felt very pleasant with the breeze.

We always enjoy seeing the raccoon squirrels which seem to live only at the park and adjacent golf course.

Toby’s seasonal allergies are coming back. So far, the bumps are few, but we’ve started wiping him off after every walk to prevent a larger outbreak. We enjoyed a 6 month break from his previous outbreak over the summer and fall. Ugh!

Toby’s favorite bed in part sun/shade next to John and the computer.

I rode my bike to Weaver Park to do yoga and weights.
I had some awesome clouds to look at while I exercised.

  2. Wall patch work is absolutely fabulous!! Great job. Unbelievable!
I did a zoom class then rushed to the gym. Fridays I have both.
Then off to a delicious luncheon at Joan’s house followed by a jewelry show made by Joan. Fun time!!! I picked up Jan, Sandy and Alexa. Trying to make new residents acquaintance. Alex’s is from Ohio. Children live in Hillsborough and Mebane reason they moved from Tampa.
Jan’s new buyers came today and bought $5000 worth of her belongings.
I fertilized my plantings of yesterday. Think I need a little more color on the patio.
I want to do another strawberry picking. Hope I can work that in tomorrow.
    Love to all.
