John’s pictures from our afternoon walk around Lake Saundra
And at Highlander Park in the late afternoon
We rode our bikes to the causeway this morning and walked. The scene had a local vibe now that many of the snowbirds have gone back north. There were fewer people on the sidewalks and more in the water.
The temperature was perfect for walking, about 75 degrees. The high was 84.
We ordered a $12 doorbell from Amazon, no camera, no phone connection. There’s a button outside and a plug-in unit inside that plugs into the wall. The two devices communicate via Bluetooth. The inside unit plays the sound when the button is pressed. The battery in the button is lithium ion and should last several years. The new doorbell arrives tomorrow! When our new cover plate arrives, I’ll mount the button on top of the plate.
I fixed a malfunctioning rotating sprinkler this afternoon. It had somehow gotten stuck and wasn’t oscillating. I figure the big mowers from our lawn service jammed it yesterday when they were here. It’s been a while since I’ve had to repair a sprinkler. Fortunately, it was an easy fix.
Toby’s new collar arrived today. It has his name, city, and phone number engraved on the buckle.
It’s white, which is crazy, right?
I spent some time on my writing project. I’ve found it helps to talk it out with John. He encourages me to try things that I think won’t work. Somehow, it works when I try it. In some ways, it writes itself and links up with themes at other levels. It’s been fun but emotionally exhausting. It reminds me of the stress of painting. But some stress is healthy.

Glad you got the door bell resolved, way over my head. In fact we can’t even change our water filter. Pathetic!
