Last walk of the day
We walked around Lake Saundra. The Pinellas County web site gives the daily pollen count. Today's was moderate. Tomorrow it goes back up to moderately high and then back down to moderate for a stretch. Today, we walked Toby with his suit this morning and no meds or a shower, and he did well all day. Tonight, we walked him without his suit, but followed up with a shower, and no meds if he looks good at bedtime.
We are experimenting to see what exactly his threshold is for breakouts. The daily pollen count appears to be crucial. Whenever it's moderately high or higher, we have to be very careful. We also learned that the major contributor to pollen currently is grass.
I rode my bike to Weaver Park and did yoga for an hour. It was hot and humid, so I guess you can call that hot yoga. Sweat was dripping off my face.
I rode down the Pinellas Trail to Clearwater and back, for an hour bike ride. I rode fast so it was a pretty good workout, all by itself. I haven't had the energy to ride like that since April.
I stopped at the Stevenson Creek bridge to take these pictures.
The sky offered every option except for rain today. Just to the west of the clouds above are blue skies.
We have our appointment with the kitchen designer on Friday at 10:00 for the big kitchen plan reveal. We are excited to see what she has come up with. We didn't tell her much except a general style, so she had free reigns to design what she thinks will look best in the space. We just told them we want to make a hole in the wall to the living room and all new cabinets, countertops, sink, faucet, and appliances. And we wanted to keep the existing footprint and lower the bar to counter height. And replace the cabinets, tile, and sink in the laundry room to match, since it's in such close proximity.
I stumbled upon glass backsplashes while I was doing research. It is usually painted on the back side and comes in sheets with no grout lines. What do you think?
This one is pretty close to what our kitchen may look like with a glass backsplash.
What do you think?
Glass backsplash also comes in tiles, which are easier to install.
This herringbone pattern is too busy for us, but it's pretty. However, we are both easily swayed by anyone with design experience, so who knows what she will be able to talk us into. She already has John reconsidering his objection to a microwave drawer installed under the counter.

I like the tile backsplash of the samples you sent. Does the drawer microwave have a pull up and out shelf? Glad ya’ll are getting a handle on what works best for Toby.
ReplyDeleteI went to the gym this morning, planted a few annuals in the back then to a Yates girlfriend lunch in Carboro. Made spaghetti for dinner since it is a cool day AGAIN!!! Dad bought groceries which he loves to do. Great pictures of Dunedin. Enjoyed them all.
I like the glass back splash; smooth, easy on the eye. Excited for you.
DeleteThe microwave is installed under the cabinet. To open it, you push a button and the front pushes out like a drawer. You place your food in the bottom of the “drawer” and push it back it in. Make sense?
