Saturday

We made it through the night. I took Toby out before sunrise to pee pee. John slept in. I brought him water, gatorade, coffee and toast throughout the morning. He took sips and small bites. About 9:30, he got up and walked around a bit and sat on the sofa for about 10 minutes. He ate another bite of toast and went back to bed. He says his stomach is traumatized. He thinks his dizziness is gone. As of 10:00, he has held everything down. He is much better this morning, fingers crossed. Update: at late afternoon, he's making progress. He fixed himself a fried egg and he's had more gatorade and water. He finished his piece of toast. Update: he had ginger ale and chicken and stars soup for dinner. He has made it through the day and kept fluids and food down. He still has a tummy ache, hard to tell if it's from the yoga, the vomiting, or the dizziness. But he's much better today.

Toby refused to go for a walk without John, and I didn't think it was right to drag him (Toby). He would not even take any treats, so I took him in the golf cart to Stirling Park where he finally walked and pooped. Of course, every car and every walker was John to him. He was super vigilant and anxious. With some coaxing, I was able to get him to walk on some of the paths, but not all. He kept wanting to go back to the golf cart, in haste. As soon as we were home, he got a bone and ran in to to take it to John. Toby has kept an eye on him for sure.

I used the morning to clean the bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry room sink. And the afternoon to vacuum and mop. Then I went to the grocery store to get John some chicken noodle soup, ginger ale, and some other staples to get us through the weekend. I Filled up the car with gas on the way home. John normally fills up the car with gas. I bet this was my second time getting gas in Dunedin.

I ordered 4 more free backsplash tile samples (shipping $1). It really helps to see them in person and in the room where they will be installed. This one is ceramic.

This one is also ceramic. I think it's too dark, but we'll see.

This one is glass. I love the lighter shades but they are on back order, so I decided to order this one to see what it looked like. It is stunning in light blue.

This one is also glass. It's pretty dark, but who knows? John likes color. I've read that bold colors make a house harder to sell because if the buyer doesn't like it, it's harder to ignore. But, we'll see. I'll keep an open mind. It would be nice if they arrive before Tuesday's meeting to sign the contract with the cabinet builder/designer.

John didn't think he could make it to Stirling Park without getting sick, so it was just me and Toby again for our evening walk. We are both showing off our neck tendons.

It took some persuasion a few times, but he eventually untucked his tail and ears and relaxed enough to do his business.

I can see that he would adjust in time if he needed to, but he prefers walking with his pack.

  2. Do you think John has the same bug you had recently? So sorry he doesn’t feel better. Those are horrible systems.
I always love your lighted home at night. It is soooo pretty.
Impressed with Toby knowing “things were not right” without John.
