Friday

John and I walked Toby at 6:20 this morning, had cereal at 7:00, and hopped on our bikes at 7:30 to ride out to Honeymoon Island for a walk on the beach.

We passed divers under the causeway drawbridge on the way.

It was 75 degrees when we left the house, a bit chilly. But it warmed up by the time we got to the island.

We walked about two and a half miles round trip. We made it just beyond the blue dot above.

In this picture, you can see the gulf on the right and the sound on the left at this very narrow stretch of the island.

Here's a similar shot walking north.

Mangrove remnants from beach erosion

The water was very clear. Unlike what you might read in the news, the water was cool.

John got this great shot.

At 8:00 in the morning, the beach was sparsely populated.

After lunch, I rode my bike to the gym to workout.

I never take the Pinellas Trail for granted.
