After nearly a week of delays due to the plumbers being behind schedule, they finally arrived this morning to fix the stems.
While the plumbers were working, the drywall workers arrived and began their prep work. At one point, the plumbers started yelling. We came out to see what the ruckus was about. The drywall folks needed water for their mud, but the plumbers had turned off the water main so that they could work on the stems. Water came out of the pipes the plumbers were working on. They were not happy. In fact, they were not especially happy even when they arrived. It must be a bad season for plumbers.
The drywall folks mudded around the thermostat as well as the ironing board hole.
The columns and ceilings are looking better.
We got some tips for painting from the boss. We can begin that a couple of days after the drywall workers texture the wall. We're doing the painting ourselves to save money.
It won't be that much, but honestly, I thought my painting days were over.
The plumbers also installed a new box and new shut off valves for our washing machine.
Here's a close up.
New stems.
New stems.
Toby crawled up in my lap to take a nap while John and I watched Clark on Netflix. It’s about the charming Swedish bank robber whose exploits gave rise to the psychological term “Stockholm Syndrome” where kidnapped victims or hostages transfer their loyalties and trust from the authorities to their kidnappers.

Making progress. Sweet picture of Toby in your lap.
ReplyDeleteFor such a huge renovation— your project is so clean and tidy. Water snafu. Oh no.
