We hit up Ace Hardware first thing this morning under the rainbow. We got more paint, a dog toy, and some kitchen utensils.
We painted most of the day, putting the finishing coat on.
We put two coats of the cut in, and tomorrow, we'll put the second finishing coat with the roller. There are still some spots where the paint is too thin and the primer is showing. It should go pretty quickly. John held the ladder while I did the cut in at the tippy top in the living room.
I painted the dang plant shelf again!
John painted the tippy top of this side of the wall. There was no shelf to hang onto, but he was tall enough to reach it while I held the ladder.
I'm so happy to get rid of the white plastic backplate of the Nest thermostat. Those are shadows on the wall, by the way.
One more quick coat tomorrow should finish the laundry room.
I cleaned the wire shelves and put them back up.
We had two different neighbors bring by plates of cookies this afternoon. We gobbled them down as fast as they came. Folks came in to take a look at the progress.
I prefer painting with my feet planted on the ground.
John said this is our last painting job! Then I reminded him how much money we were saving doing it ourselves.
We took time out for walks. It finally warmed up: 75 degrees with full sun.
Turtle pulling a kayak with a Santa dog in it. The kayak is surrounded by blue lights while the turtle is yoked to the kayak with a strand of white lights. Tonight was the Christmas golf cart parade through the neighborhood. Decorated carts all lighted up winding through the streets, honking.
Next up: We'll put the final coat of wall paint on everything and look for anything we missed. Then we'll be ready to paint the wood trim in Polar White. That shouldn't take too long. Some of the door trim in the laundry room hasn't been installed yet. We were told that it would come primed. It will be a good opportunity to touch up the baseboards, laundry room doors, etc. while the rooms are empty.

I love the paint color.
