We took advantage of the warm 72 degrees and went for a long walk from our house to Hammock Park and back this morning. The sun came out briefly here and there. The temperature will plunge tonight to 41 as a cold front moves in. That's among the lowest temperature we've had here. We might even see the mid-30s on Saturday for the low. Temperatures will return to the normal 70s the last week of the month.
We love the fern trail through the park.
The Hammock Park volunteers have erected new signs. They look great and are easy to follow. I have finally learned my way around the park without having to consult a map. The volunteers are auctioning off the historic signs to raise money. We took the Pinellas Trail back home via Palm Boulevard.
This is the classic pattern for a lawn fungus. I sent a picture to our yard guy. He'll come tomorrow to spray. The recent rain has created the perfect environment for fungi to grow. I have bypassed the automatic sprinklers for the last week to cut down on the amount of water. This has been a tough season for our lawn. First, we had mole crickets. Our yard guy has used several potions to kill them, but they keep coming back. They eat the roots of the grass. Before you know it, there is a brown clump of grass with nothing attached to the ground. It takes a long time for the surrounding grass to sends shoots over to cover the ground. We had them last year, too.
I found this polished chrome knob online at Amazon for the laundry room. It arrives tomorrow. With all this gloomy weather, we have plenty of time to shop online. New walking shoes are on the way, too.
We got a call at the end of the day that our countertop installation would be on Monday, Jan. 22nd. We're hoping that the plumbing can be scheduled for the next day so we can get back to using the kitchen. There will also be final inspections for everything: plumbing, electrical, and a walk through. We have an appointment for Friday, Jan. 26 to look over our designer's plans for our master suite.

Love the knob you chose. Can’t wait to feel
