Saturday

My sister and brother-in-law flew in with my parents Friday, Feb. 23rd. They all flew home Friday, Mar. 1st.

Pam and Jeff took the ferry from Ft. Myers to Key West to see friends for a few days while my parents stayed with us in Dunedin.

New friend.

Pool at their friends' house in Old Town.

We cooked some meals in our new kitchen. Pam and Jeff stayed with us a couple of days before and after their trip to Key West.

We ate out, too.

We ate outside at the Palm Cafe at the Fine Art Center.

It took Toby awhile to relax, but he eventually came around.

We took the golf cart downtown a couple of times, once for dinner and once to walk and shop.

The weather warmed up just in time.

We enjoyed a beautiful sunset at the marina downtown.

The glow of sunset.

We made it to Frenchy's.

It was a little chilly.

John and I made it back to the causeway on Saturday morning to walk. It was 75 degrees, but overcast.

A new tile option arrived this afternoon. It's more white than our number 1 choice. It's less expensive but a little thinner. It also has more shade variation, although you can't tell by this sample.

As you can see, it's whiter.

Almost as white as our current floor tile.

Delicious dinner: Quinoa Pilaf with Spinach

We used leftover ingredients and made substitutions: Monterey Jack cheese instead of gouda. We added walnuts and avocado. John cooked the quinoa for 20 minutes on low. It was perfect.

So far, we've rounded up 8 people to attend a meet and greet with Whitney Fox who is running against Anna Paulina Luna, our current Congressional representative. We were invited by neighbors and asked to contact people who might be interested. The meeting will be at a neighbor's house just a couple of blocks away. Grass roots politics. It will be nice to be around like minded folks.

We went to an open house this afternoon on Taylor Ave, across the lake. It was large and had potential, but it had many different floor coverings, the thing we are trying to avoid with our latest renovation. They are currently asking $615,000.
