Beautiful morning walk before John's biopsy appointment.
Our contractors arrived a little after 8:00.
They ran an electrical line from the dryer outlet (220v) across the house into the primary bath. And they ran a hose through the window to the exterior water outlet.
With power, water, concrete saw, and jackhammer, they were able to make a trench for the new drain lines and water supply. Fortunately, we were at John's periodontist with Toby, so we missed all the noise.
They broke through the foundation to the dirt. We were told that they accidentally cut the cold and hot water supply lines that were buried under the slab. He said they were usually a few inches below the slab, but ours were directly below. They quickly shut off the water main and capped the severed lines and restored water.
The cut out is for our new shower stall. It will be a walk-in curbless shower, no more stepping down. The two glass walls will go all the way to the floor.
The top right cut out is for the new tub filler. The trench is for the new water supply and tub drain.
John is recuperating nicely. Our friend made us some chocolate chip cookies. She calls them "crack cookies" because they are as addictive as crack cocaine.
