Thursday

We had 4 construction workers, one designer, one glass shower wall installer, one grouter, one construction boss and one tile boss at our house today. We were able to get the dresser put back in the bedroom. The designer suggested to play up the blues in the painting with a new bedspread. She likes the pop of red in the painting, but doesn't like a lot of red in the bedroom.

She also suggested pillows for the window seat where all of our plumbing fixtures are now stacked.

One worker installed a new knob on both linen closet doors. The designer came in and just started asking the workers to do things in addition to what they were already working on.

One worker installed towel hooks on the pocket door wall. The blotches in all of my photos are from my camera lens. We are both due phone upgrades from our iPhone Xs.

Perfect spot for them. There will be another hook just like it on the adjoining wall for a hand towel. We're going to wait until the mirror is installed to hang that hook.

The tab pulls got installed on the vanity. They are just like the ones in the kitchen.

The construction workers applied mud and texture to the groove behind the shower wall and then added orange peel texture to it. It's on my list of things to paint now. I also need to paint another inch on the wall beside the mirror, on the left. The also delivered another bundle of baseboard for me to paint.

Measurements were made for the shower glass wall, and we planned this placement for the shower shelf and wash cloth hooks. We're waiting to install them after the glass wall is installed.

We're awaiting an opening for template measurement for the quartz countertop. I think the appointment we now have is a ways off.

The grouter grouted this gap and a couple of others where the tile fell short of the new baseboard.

New hooks on the left. The previous towel bar was on the wall to the right. I didn't like it there on the way to the toilet because it felt crowded. Also, the towels were reflected in the mirror, our designer pointed out. Now, they will be off to the side hanging in that dead space.

Our nine new polished chrome hinges arrived.

I was able to replace them one by one fairly quickly while leaving the door up. New polished chrome door handles are due to arrive soon. I need to paint the backside of the other two bedroom doors, but I'm waiting until the workers install the new baseboard molding. They will start that after we clear some stuff out and after I paint some more boards.

I replaced the pocket door latch with these polished chrome ones. They were of the same design and were easy to replace.

We replaced the laundry room latch too. The back bathroom latch has not yet arrived, but that door needs painting and I plan to wait until we renovate that bathroom to replace the latch to prevent them from getting scuffed.

We unwrapped the light fixtures. We'll clean the ceiling fan while we have the ladder in the room.

The flexible baseboard got primed here and in the closet. We'll paint them and the primed baseboards tomorrow. The primed ones we can paint outside while standing up.

Last walk in Stirling park.

The construction boss is sending the plumber to do some work next Tuesday. He usually comes in last after the countertop and shower walls are installed. But he will be able to install the toilet, shower, and possibly the tub now. I don't believe the construction crew will be back until next week, which is fine. We have plenty to do in the meantime.
