We ordered some reusable Swedish paper towels. The colorful fruit design makes it easier to leave the one you're using out on the countertop. They are washable. I put the paper towel dispenser under the sink to help us break our habit.
Our old stud finder finally broke, so I ordered this new one. We've made a decision to re-purpose the closet that my cousin, Kim, and Bruce installed in our primary closet last year. We had to take it down for the tile project, and the drywall folks spackled the holes and textured the walls, which was a big surprise. We were intending to put it back up. But then we decided to leave off the mirrored doors and to remove the framing to the entrance and the track in the floor and header, so it's just a wall opening. As a result, we decided that we needed a closet design that would hide more clothes behind doors and in drawers. The closet is now an open room off of our new bathroom/bedroom suite. So we're going to install the old closet in the back bedroom in place of the wire shelving, giving us much more accessible storage. I will just need to cut down two of the hanging bars to make it fit.
I spent the morning measuring the walls in our primary closet and finding the studs for our new closet system. The new closet arrives (in boxes) soon and will have to be put together and hung. It hangs on the wall about a foot off the floor, hence the need for the stud finder. We're using the same basic layout that Kim came up with because we know it works: lots of shelves, just a little bit of hanging space.
Our contractor delivered a second bundle of baseboards for us to paint.
He heard about the grouter filling in the gap behind the shower tile. He wanted to see how it looked. He thought they could make it look better with wall compound and paint. He took a picture for the designer.
While he was here, I pointed out the sightly taller cooktop due to the difference in tile thickness from before. He said they would pull it out and see if the rear legs can be adjusted like the front legs.
It was a chilly 63 degrees, but I managed to get all the baseboards painted even with a trip to Ace for more paint.
192 feet of baseboard. The general contractor ordered some additional flexible baseboard for the round wall in the living room and the inside round wall in the primary closet. He says that I'll have to paint the baseboard after they've installed it because the flexing would crack the paint if I painted it first. It has been nice to be able to paint the rest of baseboard while it's on sawhorses.
Tomorrow morning, the workers will come and install some of the baseboards in the bedroom suite before taking off for another job. At least we'll be able to move back into our bedroom. Another worker will be coming to install the vanity in the bathroom.
