It was a beautiful, sunny day today with the high temperature hitting 70 degrees, so I decided to tackle the bird of paradise.
It's supposed to be heavily pruned in late January or early February, although it's okay to prune it anytime.
It's amazing how fast it grows. I start cutting at the bottom and work my way around.
Then I go around again, a bit higher up. I finished by trimming the bottom to make it look a little neater.
This is the first year that I've trimmed it this early, before it gets hot.

Great trim job.
ReplyDeleteOur knock out roses are to be pruned in
February, but it needs to get much warmer before I tackle that prunning. We lost one knock out rose bush, but that is OK. One less to trim. I am afraid we might lose 4 azaleas planted 2 years ago around the patio. Fingers crossed.
