Friday

The plumber arrived first thing this morning and set up his tools in the bathroom.

He unboxed the tub.

And he put in the new drainage.

The tub is in place. The lip around the sides and back will be covered by the tile. The lip is there to prevent water from getting behind the tiles and to the walls.

The new valve is in place for the spout.

The plumber had to cut out the drywall in the second bedroom to access the drain connections with the tub in place.

He got the shower piped in.

He capped all the inlets. He'll add new shut-off valves later. When he's finished, all of our 34-year old valves will be gone. Insurance inspectors look for things like leaky valves when they decide to issue a policy or not.

It's taking shape. He'll return in a week or so. He was able to come today because their big jobs had all hit a snag. We understood that our job would be a filler job. Otherwise, we would have had to wait until September to get started to be a top priority.

After lunch, I rode my bike south on the Pinellas Trail to Coachman park while John went jogging north on the trail.

The dog agility competition was in full swing.

It was nice to see people and dogs enjoying the park.

I found this beautiful spot to do my stretching exercises.

I was surrounded by wildlife.

I looked up in the tree . . .

. . . and saw this sea gull hanging out.

With his friend nearby. The sound is a stone's throw away while the gulf is about a mile and a half.

Behind me, was the corkscrew that goes from the park up to the Clearwater Causeway bridge. It's for walkers and bikers. It provides great views of the sound and is a blast to ride.

I stopped at Weaver park in Dunedin on the way home to do some strength training.

We splurged on a lasagna pizza for dinner. It sounds awful, but it's delicious--and very filling!

  1. What a nice blog. Enjoyed it ALL. Yea for the plumber and beautiful place to work out. It is windy and cold here today. Will finish changing seasonal clothes so I will be ready WHENEVER spring comes! We ran errands this morning. Dad put up a hose caddy on the Tennysons side for my new copper hose. Love it.
