We walked around the community center pond after lunch.
It's just a short golf cart ride away and it's shaded.
My afternoon project was to get rid of as much of this clutter as I could. The previous owner had 2 or 3 cable outlets in each bedroom, a couple in the living room and one in the kitchen. We removed and patched the wall for the living room and kitchen during the first phase of our remodel. We only need one cable line for the internet to the modem. Everything else is wi-fi.
So I cut down all the exterior lines that were not in use.
They were strung up everywhere.
What a mess. Perhaps when we replace our roof, we'll get a replacement for this damaged soffit piece.
Now it's simplified to a single line going to the cable box and then into the attic.
Cleaned up.
Nice and tidy. Maybe when we replace the roof, we can get an even cleaner look.
The cables at the other end go to the outlets in the bedrooms. Our renovation contract includes removing the outlet boxes, stuffing the coaxial cable and phone lines into the hollow space and repairing the wallboard. As always, we'll do the painting.
They will even remove this dummy cover and fix the wall.
Another phone line outlet will also be removed and the wall repaired.
More coaxial cable outlets. As you might imagine, we have miles of coaxial cable all over the attic. Maybe when we replace the duct work and the insulation in the future, we can have the cables and multiple antennas and discs removed from the attic. I was able to give away the exterior pole and TV antenna last year to a neighbor. Slowly, we are getting this house cleaned up and updated.
When I removed the baseboards months ago, some of the nails remained. Removing them will speed along the replacement baseboards for the workers.
I removed about 3 dozen.

The stuffed ravioli came from TJ's, imported from Italy. They came refrigerated. We cooked them in boiling water 2-3 minutes.
Easy, delicious meal.
All that wiring etc blows my mind. Re roofing ..... is quite an interesting experience. However, replacing our gutters and downspouts is even more interesting. Glad we had this done. We have more than a dozen houses in the Highlands that had roofing etc done. Most had the copper redone. However it will eventually turn black so we did not. The only copper we have is over the dining room and it matches our front door and shutters on the front bedroom.
