I rode out to Clearwater Beach this morning at 7:45 after John and I walked Toby in the neighborhood.
Traffic was backed up to the mainland. I found out why as I rode on. There was a three-car accident on the other side of the bridge near Pier 60. One of the vehicles was a work truck with buckets of paint in the bed. The buckets went flying, some all the way to the bike trail. Paint was spilled on the street and grass.
I made it to the beach without any fuss of my own. On the way home, I stopped at Coachman Park to stretch and Weaver Park for strength training.
This afternoon's project was to clean the inside windows. Rain was predicted, so I thought it would be a good project. I started in the eat-in kitchen and finished the backside of the house. As it happens, one project easily leads into another. We have two windows in the sunroom that won't latch. After some investigation and comparison with the properly working latches, I noticed that the faulty latches were installed just a tad too far away from the catch.
I removed them and drilled new holes closer to the catch and re-installed them, as you can see above. They work great. These two windows had always frustrated us because they looked just like the others, but they never worked. Repairing them slowed down my window cleaning, but it's nice to know they are now installed properly.
Our wall door stop arrived today. Because the bathroom is so small, it would be unsafe to have a standard doorstop on the baseboard because it would be a tripping hazard. Originally, the door had a door stop on top of the upper hinge, but those hinge door stops don't work too well. In fact, ours was broken off. Installing it may be a project for tomorrow.
I ordered a frame on Amazon for this watercolor of the Hemingway House in Key West. We got the piece of art when we spent Christmas in Key West and have had it sitting around since.

Window latch assessment and repair impressive. Window cleaning also impressive. What did you use for window cleaning?????
