We took a long walk recently to Hammock Park and noticed this "High Water" mark on one of the perimeter posts. The date was of Hurricane Helene on September 26, last year.
The mark is about a foot above ground. Cedar Creek is in the background. The Sound is about 1/3 mile away. The ground is flat for miles north and south which shows how many homes were flooded.
Homes back behind those bushes were flooded as were dozens and dozens more 3-4 streets deep on the east side of Alt. 19. The homes on the west side nearer the water were also flooded.
We've had a lot of rain the last few days, but nothing like the hurricane. The ditch above is in Hammock Park. The water is above flood stage and overflowing into Cedar Creek.

Wednesday morning we headed to Clearwater Beach.
I stretched on my yoga mat (in the distance above) in the center of Pier 60 park.
Nearby, one of the busiest traffic circles in the county went about its work. It was surprisingly quiet on the lawn.
The sky was hazy.
John took this picture when he got back from jogging the causeway.
I stopped off at Weaver Park to do some strength training. The morning bike ride was over 18 miles.

Liked the Perry and John photos. Thanks for sharing.
