Wednesday

John got these pictures of a bald eagle at Lake Saundra.

The eagle had a fish in its talons.

He was able to fly over the lake holding onto the fish.

Pretty cool to see a bald eagle.

We rode our bikes to Clearwater Beach this morning, leaving the house at 7:45 a.m. It was 75 degrees and partly cloudy.

We stopped briefly at Stevenson Creek to get a picture of this heron sitting in a tree.

We stopped again at Coachman Park for pit stop.

We parked our bikes at Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach.

I set up my yoga mat on the lawn between the pier and the traffic circle. John jogged back to the causeway trail all the way to the bridge and back.

The sky was beautiful.

This spot was surprisingly quiet, only one person walked by while I was there. Most people kept to the sidewalks along the fringes.

After we finished exercising, we walked out to the pier.

The city just opened the end of the pier this week.

Normally, there is a $2 fee, but they haven't put up the gate yet.

We walked to the end as far as we could where we saw hurricane damage.

We were blocked off from the last twenty feet.

This is the view from the gift store/bait shop where the gate is normally located.

We checked out the store while we were there.

View south from the pier.

View north from the pier.

We checked out a few stores on the north side of the traffic circle; then we headed back to the causeway trail via the north sidewalk.

At the tidal bridge, the sidewalk goes under the causeway to link up with the causeway trail on the other side.
