Thursday

Painting is slow work.

We painted primer in the morning and after lunch until 4:30.

We cut in to the ground, using a painter's blade. John held the 36 inch blade to the ground while I painted the wall down to the blade. The blade kept the brush from getting in the dirt.

John taped the entrance so I could paint down to the tile. I also primed the columns to the ceiling where needed.

I primed the door where it needed it while I was there even though it may get replaced soon.

The primer now goes below the dirt line.

That should help seal the paint from moisture.

While painting primer to the ground, we touched up here and there where necessary.

We worked on fixing the garage door opening with caulk and primer.

Both sides look much better.

Straight lines.

We didn't get to pressure wash the upper part of the entrance, but we plan to do so tomorrow. Depending on how that goes, we may have time to begin putting trim pain around the garage and other places that are dry. The high temperature today was 71. Tomorrow 75 degrees. Good painting weather.

  1. Enjoyed this blog immensely. You and John are really amazing. The white against the grass and flower beds really makes for a beautiful setting. Love ya'lls home!
