The roofers came early this morning and finished removing the asphalt shingles and laying down the insulation/moisture barrier. By 10:30, they were gone, as was the debris bin. The manager said the roof would be delivered today, and that the installers would like to get started on Saturday. A few minutes before noon, our metal roofing panels (seen above) arrived via a freight truck. Everything got placed in the driveway ready for Saturday.
We got started cutting in for the second coat on the upper wall on the north side of the house.
Then we rolled the lower wall for the first coat. The color is hard to see in this photo, but compared to the previous photo where the lower wall is unpainted, you can tell a difference. The color will darken as it dries and with the second coat.
We also painted the upper wall for the second coat. We'll need to paint the trim again with Chantilly Lace along the edge of the roof. It got banged up with the roof removal.
By the time they start installing the metal roof, we should be finished painting the north wall. We have all day Friday to paint. It's supposed to be 71 degrees and sunny. We're expecting to do touch ups all over after they install the roof. And we still have the east wall (back yard) to do, but it will not be impacted by the new roof and it should be the easiest side to paint.

Progress. I was concerned re the roofers banging up your paint, but it appears ya'll have a plan. Enjoying your blog.
