Thursday

No workers today. The project manager came by to check on the progress and to let us know that the workers were running out of material, so the metal suppliers would be dropping off some more panels later today.

He said they would work Friday and finish up on Saturday.

Later this afternoon, the extra panels were delivered.

I took advantage of the lull to do the second cut in of Swiss Chalet on the north lower wall. All of the north wall now has two coats of paint. I started on the cable management project. I did all the prep work: measured, drilled holes in the plastic, and cut the pieces. I decided to disconnect the white cable and re-route it so that it would come out the same hole in the box that the black incoming cable uses. This way, I can put both cables in the same cord cover instead of having two. I pulled the cords to make sure they could share the same path. At the top of the wall, the black cable will exit the cord cover and go along the roof overhang. The white cable will continue in the cord cover along the top of the wall until it gets to where the cable goes into the attic. That's how it will work in theory. I ran out of time to assemble it and test it. I'll get back to it when the roof is complete.

I ordered this mailbox to replace the green plastic one below.

A bit of an improvement, right?

And we're thinking about these light fixtures to replace the ones at the entrance and garage. You can see the existing ones below:

Black fixtures don't look right anymore.

I need to measure to make sure the size is right.
