Wednesday

We finished the Swiss Chalet cut in on the south side, but we were not satisfied with the wall coverage. It needed another coat. The stucco texture is very rough and it soaks up paint and makes it difficult to get paint in the crevices.

So we headed to Ace to get two gallons of paint to finish this side and to have some on hand for the north side. It took 1/2 gallon on the third coat.

It looks a lot smoother. The color doesn't render accurately in these photos. The color is more light blue than aqua in real life.

When we finished the south side, we turned our attention to the north side. It's similar to the south side, but it has a garage extension, trash can pony wall, and electrical equipment.

We pressure washed the lower part under the roof skirt overhang including the gutter.

Then we cleaned the outside of the gutter by hand to get rid of the stubborn stains. The weather continues to be ideal for painting: 70 degrees and partly sunny.

Tomorrow, we'll set up the tall ladder and clean the upper part. There are a few places on the lower part that need scraping and some parts that need hand scrubbing. We have about 12 days before the roofers come to get this side of the house painted.
