Sunshine and Disinfectants

There was no sun today to destroy any Coronavirus. None outside of the body and, thankfully, no sunlight inside the body!

It's not true that it only rains in Florida for 15 minutes and then the sun comes back out! Today, it has rained all day. Lightning, thunder, downpours, and gentle sprinkles. It has only rained a little over 7 inches since January 1. There was already over an inch of rain before sunrise today. John and I call this a North Carolina kind of day. Zero blue sky.

The Tampa area ranks in the top 10 of cities with the most sunlight each year. And St. Pete was the answer in a recent New York Times cross word puzzle for the record holder of the most consecutive days of sun (768 days), according to Guinness. But today spoiled the current streak.

Lucky for me I had job applications to sort through for the hiring committee I'm on and students to attend to.

Looking on the bright side, it was 82 degrees--which makes walking the dog in the rain a little better.

My work kept me from thinking too much about why we were being told not to inject or swallow disinfectant to cure COVID-19 infections. What dumbass would make such a serious (not sarcastic) suggestion?

I read that it was some "minister" in Florida that gave the president the idea. When are responsible Republicans going to hold this president to account for peddling such dangerous falsehoods?
