Clearwater Beach

We finally made it to Clearwater Beach by bike. The most surprising thing is how close it is. It felt a little closer than Tarpon Springs and infinitely more beautiful.
Lush landscaping along the bike trail.
Famous Pier 60. The area around Pier 60 in the heart of Clearwater Beach is like something out of South Beach or Disney. It's beautiful and creative. It was 75 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. It was about as perfect as it could be.
This may be one of the last times the beaches are this empty. They will open Monday.
Amazing white sand and azur blue skies.

Guy Harvey artwork displayed on this building. Harvey is a marine wildlife artist and conservationist. He got his start when he painted 44 pen-and-ink drawings depicting Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea. The exhibit was well-received and he began painting full time.

Shops, condominiums, and bike racks. We rode all the way to the Sand Key bridge on the southern tip of Clearwater Beach Island. Then we doubled back and rode through the commercial district of Clearwater Beach.

So white that the sand spills into the background of my pure white web page!

This picture is from the apex of the Clearwater bridge.

Stylized Pinellas Trail marker in downtown Clearwater.
I made John get in the picture to show the scale of this enormous flowering bush.

Images on the way back to Dunedin. I know I've shown this picture before, but I love the contrast in colors.
I spotted this backpack hanging on a branch over our favorite beach store. We think someone climbs on the roof and uses it.

These pictures are from this morning's walk. It was 70 degrees with light winds.

Dee Dee watching dinner preparation. It was so pleasant here today that we opened our windows. The breeze picked up to about 13 mph.

Huge salad for dinner. We couldn't eat fast enough we were so hungry.

A great bike trip to the beach.
We walked 15.3 miles and biked 22.21.
