Taylor Lake

We took an epic bike ride today to the furthest southern point so far on the Pinellas Trail. We made it 13 miles south of our house to a point just past Largo. We figured we had about 15 more miles to get to St. Petersburg, so that goal will have to wait for another day. Even so, we went through Clearwater, Belleair, and Largo.  I think of St. Petersburg as being really far away, but on bike everything feels closer than when driving in the car--probably because it's just so much fun. That and when you're on a bike, you're not isolated like you are when you're in a car. By the Pinellas Trail, St. Petersburg is 28.5 miles from our house.
We stopped in Largo at Taylor Lake for a bathroom break and to get some more water. We rode our bikes around the lake. There are exercise fitness stations and a Frisbee course. And there are some alligators in the lake. I guess that might help with fitness if they are coming after you. I don't think it helps if you miss a Frisbee basket and your Frisbee lands in the lake. Score one for the gator!
Notwithstanding the gators, it's a lovely lake. Great walking trail, picnic tables, and facilities.
There's NO WAY I would kayak in that lake with all those gators. Just no.

The weather was beautiful again today. We started our walk to the causeway in long sleeves at 68 degrees with light winds. We biked in 80 degree weather, again with light winds.

We had a Home Run Inn Pizza for dinner. Best frozen pizza ever!

Walked: 18.4 miles
Biked: 28.1
