Thursday

Last night’s sunset after the rain shower.

This morning’s walk on the causeway was nice: low 80s, 8 mph breeze, lots of shade from passing clouds.

We had lunch on the edge of the Pinellas Trail in Stirling Park. We watched bikers, walkers, and joggers go by as we ate.

Over John’s shoulder, you can see the clouds moving in.
Near the end of our lunch we heard long and loud thunder, so we knew we had to head home quickly, even though the blue sky in the west said not to worry. The sky to the east where the prevailing winds were coming was ominous. We made it home just in time. Then it continued to rain the rest of the afternoon.

I fixed mahi-mahi, rice, and green beans for dinner. We walked Dee Dee after dinner after it finally stopped raining.  It was 73 degrees.

The college sent an email tonight saying that only essential people were going to be allowed on campus this fall. Everyone else will be working from home. Essential faculty included only those who are teaching seated classes. Seated classes will be drastically limited in the number of students allowed in the same room; hence there will be few of those sections. It’s just too costly and inefficient. I had a hunch this was the direction they were heading. It’s just too dangerous for people to mix with one another in enclosed spaces for 75 minutes with so much talking and breathing the same air.

Miles walked: 8.7
Miles biked: 3.02
