We took our bikes out to Honeymoon Island this afternoon and found this bird in the parking lot taking a bath. It has rained a little bit off and on, mostly after lunch.

 

But we managed to make it out and back with just a few sprinkles. It has been cloudy all day, but that has kept the temperatures down. Perfect day for bike riding.

 

We took a morning ride to Clearwater Beach around 9:30 a.m. It was 79 degrees and cloudy when we started and 81 and cloudy when we got home for lunch. We wore long sleeves!

Lunch: fruit bowl with peaches, red plums, red grapes, blueberries, blackberries, and strawberry yogurt.

We saw this sticker supporting the Post Office on the back of a parking sign this morning on Honeymoon Island.

Scenes from this morning's Dee Dee walk on the island. She seems better than yesterday. John's chicken thighs cooked in the crock pot yesterday seem to have helped. She's eaten more today than she has in weeks. She even ate off her plate on her own. She's really wide, but she's coughed less than yesterday. She's perky and happy today.

 

 

The two curved bar ends that I ordered from Amazon came today. Tomorrow the stem should arrive that will allow me to raise the handle bars a few more inches. Next, I need to order a seat. Then I think I'll have two reasonably comfortable bikes to ride, one electric and one manual.

 

 

We had our second "Beyond Meat" burger tonight for dinner. They are great! The texture and taste are spot on. 

 

The only thing we don't like is the packaging, lots of waste. The card board above is the wrapper that surrounds the plastic tray. The plastic tray is shrink-wrapped.

I got a really hard advising question from one of my advisees today. I forwarded it to a dean. I'm not going to work on my last vacation.
