This morning's walk took us downtown.
This memorial is for wounded combat veterans.
With the tropical storm passing by on the east coast, we expected some rain bands and wind, but we only got a couple of 15-minute showers, the usual summer event.
John made his father's pasta salad recipe for lunch: spinach, pasta, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, and Italian dressing.
I took a walk around the pond after lunch, trying to stay awake. I sat down on the bench and looked at the ducks. After awhile, we realized that it wasn't going to rain as predicted, so we hopped on our bikes and rode downtown to the Marina.
After that, we drove out to the causeway and then home. Apparently while we were away, it rained on the mainland at our house. The streets were wet when we got home.
We had some left-over curry chicken so John sliced it up and I made a super salad for dinner. We had a side of John's pasta salad. Delicious summer-time meal.
After dinner, we took Dee Dee for a car ride to the Fine Art Center to enjoy the shaded walkway.
Isn't she looking great? That tail is straight up. She's prancing and smelling everything. She's a little wider than normal, but not like she was. We are both amazed and hoping she will enjoy a normal old age now. She's had her vaccinations and annual shots. She's still on two different heart medicines that are designed to improve the efficiency of her heart. She's also still on the diuretic to help reduce the fluid build up in her chest cavity. There's no cure for congestive heart failure, but these medicines are helping to improve her heart functioning to give her more time and a more comfortable life.
This shaded walkway is so lovely in the late afternoon.
