I went to my last work meeting today, at least I think it was. It was a department meeting, about 30 people. The new president made an appearance. Because it was my last meeting, I got lots of attention and people said some really kind things about me, more than I deserved. Even the president recognized my contributions. They also sang happy birthday to me. I was relieved and happy that it was over. I didn't realize how anxious these last days were making me.
It was made clear in the meeting that our group was not expected to be on campus this fall. In fact, you have to sign up for an on-campus appointment and be approved to visit, each time you wish to visit. No one in my department will have on-campus classes. There are other departments and student services personnel that will be required to report to campus, but not everyone from those areas. The leaders are trying to keep the number of persons on campus low.
After the meeting and lunch, we took a walk to the Pinellas Trail and Hammock Park.

After our morning walk with Dee Dee, we headed out to Honeymoon Island on our bikes so that I could get back to my 11:00 a.m. meeting.
Miles walked: 7.6
Miles biked: 11.59

I am so glad that you were recognized for your contribution. You were an excellent teacher and your students were lucky to have you as their professor. Enjoy the rest of your life and know that you are loved and appreciated.
