Wednesday

We biked out to the island after lunch. The skies were overcast and the temperature was in the mid to upper 80s.

The gulf was clear and calm. There weren't many people out.

Our bike route to the island.

We reverted to our pandemic lockdown walking plan this morning and left our house on foot, crossing the neighborhood bridge over Curlew Creek to exit onto Curlew Road and then on to the causeway. Round trip it's about 8.5 miles to the entrance of Honeymoon Island and back. We chose a good day because there was good cloud cover and a good breeze.

The creek was high from the heavy rains yesterday afternoon.

Even though it was overcast, there were still patches of blue sky.

John put some chicken breasts in the crock pot this morning. We had some fresh kale. I added olive oil (1 Tbs), garlic (3-4 cloves), smoked paprika (1 tsp), chopped walnuts (1/4 cup), balsamic vinegar (2 Tbs), and Parmesan cheese (sprinkled).

We served  pearl couscous on the side.

We are having heavy precipitation at the moment. I like how you can see the storms coming in Florida, and you can see them leave. Quickly and efficiently. No lawn sprinklers needed tomorrow.
