Wednesday

We biked downtown after our morning causeway walk and saw the sign that said the Dunedin History Museum was free today. So we took a look. It was much larger than I thought it would be. Lots of interesting exhibits, too much to take in on one visit. It's definitely worth a return visit, even to pay for admittance.

This morning's walk was especially nice after two days of rain and doomsday clouds.

I used the rainy days to hang pictures. The first thing I see every morning when I get out of bed are my beautiful dogs.

I hung this tracing of a fish carving in the dining room.

We took an afternoon ride out to Honeymoon Island and rested at this bench inscribed: "Looney Folks Welcome Here"

The surf was churned up from Hurricane Sally.

Tonight's dinner: bean, avocado, and cheese burritos with a side of rice.

Scientific American issued its first presidential endorsement in its 175 year history.  Back in 1845, James K. Polk was president, the 11th president, so that's a lot of years and presidential elections to sit out. That makes their endorsement even more noteworthy. The editorial (click on the link above) is a damning review of the Trump administration's lies and failures when it comes to science and decision making.

On the subject of Trump's lying, Bob Woodward, who spent almost 10 hours in 18 interviews with the president, said in an interview: "I don't know, to be honest, whether he's got it straight in his head what is real and what is unreal." That's why he concludes his book saying that Trump is the wrong man for the job. It's the only time in his many books on presidents that Woodward has bluntly stated his opinion. Heretofore, his preferred style has been to lay out the facts and let them speak for themselves.
