Monday

Mr. Toby had the best day yet!

Toby made it to the Clearwater dog park today after our causeway walk and before lunch. And he did great. He ran. He played. He came when called. He was curious but careful. The park was really big, so we could actually take a walk ourselves. Most dogs stuck close by their humans. It wasn't just an open field like most dog parks. This one had trails. The dogs were in constant motion, but they were not aggressive. They mostly just sniffed and said hello. Some would play chase. I would call it gentle play, not rough and tumble.

The park is located near the Clearwater Countryside Mall, just across the city limits from Dunedin.  It's called the Enterprise Dog Park. Here's an aerial view.

It was 79 degrees.

It was a pretty amazing experience for us. First time we've every stepped foot into a dog park. Dexter and Dee Dee had dog issues that made it an unsafe place for them--a very sad fact because we saw such joy as Toby ran free and met over a dozen dogs. He met all kinds, big and tall and small and cuddly.

It was a lot of fun. John said Toby may turn out to be a demon dog and eat us in our sleep, but today he was just about perfect!

At 8:30 this morning, we took Toby to the Dunedin Causeway for our morning walk. It was 72 degrees.

It was low tide. This kayaker was waiting for his companions to arrive.

Waiting for the light at Bayshore and Curlew.
