Sunday

We drove out to the Dunedin Causeway this morning to watch the sun come up. It was 72 degrees.  Another great picture, don't you think?

Toby's got the routine down now. He walks out of his car crate instead of crawling out. John helps him down to the ground. Toby has been in our care now for one month and a day--seems like much longer.

Toby's ready to go home.  He puts his paws on the bumper and John hoists him up the rest of the way. That was the best walk yet on the causeway.

We came home and took a nap.

After rest period, we took Toby to the Dunedin Community Center for a walk. We hooked up the trailer to my bike to see if that would make Toby more relaxed.

It worked! As long as John is behind us, Toby is relaxed. He only whined twice: once when we had to stop for a stop sign and once when John got in front of us. So, the lesson I learned is he likes to go and he likes John to follow us so he doesn't feel he's getting left behind by his favorite human.

Just one little problem: you can't take corners very fast if Toby shifts his weight at the same time. We had a bit of a tumble. No one was hurt, just a few grass stains and a small rip. Amazingly, Toby stayed inside and didn't freak out, even though his trailer was on its side and his cushion was on top of him. He stayed calm and was rewarded with treats and tennis ball fetching.

He got back in the trailer and rode home without a peep.

Toby stopped on his afternoon walk to check out the geese. The temperature got up to 82 degrees.

Cheese quesadilla, rice, beans, and a salad for dinner.

Miles walked: 4.1
Miles biked: 2.44

  1. What was the rip on? I couldn’t figure out the white looking cloth. Glad no one was injured in the tumble. Keep the stories coming.
