Monday

It was raining and 75 degrees this morning as we walked on the Dunedin Causeway.  It was also breezy. A woman lost her umbrella, the wind taking it into the sound. She started to go after it, but gave up. I didn't want it to end up as trash in the sound, so I took off after it. I rescued it, folded it back up, and returned it to her. She didn't know that I went after it. She kept walking on the causeway, so I had to chase her down.

We changed the sheets with Toby's help.

It was not easy!

We took John's bike to Kafe Racer to get a hitch added so that he could pull Toby's trailer on his electric bike. They installed it free of charge. I spotted a Gazelle Arroyo in the bike shop, first time I've seen one in person.

We took a short ride to the Dunedin Community Center to give Toby a chance to adjust to his new locomotion.

Toby is fulfilling his mission to be a distraction from the news and to give us a sense of purpose. He's proven to be that and so much more. He's a really good dog, even when he has his puppy tantrums and runs around the house and tries to put everything in his mouth.

It's been overcast most of the day with Eta out in the gulf. The latest track has it heading towards the panhandle where it will become a tropical depression with winds less than 39 mph. It looks like we will have some rain over the next three days.

Miles walked: 4
Miles biked: 3.2

  1. I hope you will only have some rain without wind. Keep us posted. I enjoyed the umbrella and sheet change story. I had a zoom session with my Yates birthday group this morning and shared the arrival of Toby to our family. Dad is going to his primary care doc tomorrow. Thankfully, it was a scheduled annual check up. 🙏👏👍 So timely!!!

  2. I hope dad can get some PT for his arm.

I shared photos of Toby with Mike and Gail and they think he is so very cute. They are also happy that you have a great dog.

Stephanie took Taco to the vet today. He has cancer in his lungs. No surgery recommended and sent him home with steroids and herbal meds.
