Friday

What a great way to begin the day: coffee, news, and a sweet dog.

We took a couple of walks (leaving Toby behind) to work on crate training. Toby has learned when we put on our walking shoes that he's about to be put in the crate. So he gets really quiet and submissive.

Trying to disappear.

I'll be good. I promise.

Later in the day, we took him to the community center for a short walk around the pond.

We got to see the North (flag) Pole.

We had a pair of egrets in the front yard when we came back from one of our walks.

We tried to put Toby in the crate so we could go for a bike ride, but he finally wore us down. We put him in his dog trailer and took him with us on a ride downtown.

It was a beautiful day, 72 degrees and sunny. It was great to get outside. We haven't been able to ride or go on long walks for the last week because of John's injured toe and Toby's injured shoulder.

 Today's bike route.

We made it to the end of the day without any significant injuries. Oh, and Trump lost again. (The election that just keeps on giving!) This time in the Supreme Court. So much for winning so much we would all get tired of it. Turns out, over 81 million just got tired of his lies, incompetence, and threat to democracy and the rule of law.

On the same day, Der Spiegel, Germany's largest magazine, named Trump the "Loser of the Year," a man "without decency and without dignity," and Time magazine named Biden and Harris "Persons of the Year." Biden's response: "I'm honored to be Person of the Year with @KamalaHarris and grateful to be on this list with so many extraordinary folks. From front line workers to racial justice organizers, Americans met this year with strength, fortitude, and an unflinching belief in a brighter tomorrow." That is what decency and dignity look like.

Miles walked: 5.2
Miles biked:  6.6
