Monday

This woodstork hangs out at one of our neighbors’ house, usually on top of the car or house.

Today was a beautiful day, and even though it was 63 degrees, we were both cold.

Today is the winter solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year. Pandemic, democracy under assault, asteroids, breakaway icebergs, I’ll be glad when this year is over.

The best thing that happened this year was my retirement and moving to Florida to be with my husband. The second best thing was Toby.

I’ve yet to be bored or have any regrets. The weeks fly by. But I am looking forward to more normal living.

In the meantime, we try to eat well, exercise, and take care of Toby and each other.

Our neighbors brought us a smoked whole chicken to our door tonight. As they were on the way over, there was a golf cart parade through the neighborhood. We all watched from our sides of the street until it was over. Very festive. Great neighbors!
