Toby got a little rowdy this afternoon. We placed him in his crate where he immediately settled down. After a couple of minutes, we took him on a jog around the block. That seemed to work. I'll be glad when the days get longer and warmer. It's tough to pack in the necessary exercise in the few hours of daylight we have now.
John went to our new doctor today. She gave me an A+ for being prepared last week. I had 99 pages of PDF files to tell her whatever she wanted to know. Of course, it was all I could do to make John's appointment, get him pre-registered, signed up for the website, and to the appointment with Google Maps. I didn't have the time or wherewithal to research his previous records like I did for my appointment. Her comment to him was NOT to chastise him but to ask him how I could let him come to his appointment so unprepared!!
After the fact, I did the research and sent the information via a message on the web site. Grrr!
She's a good doctor though. Very patient, thorough, and funny.
We're learning a lot about how to access healthcare in the area. For example, to draw blood we go to a clinic that just does blood work, and they send the results to the doctor. Blue Cross of North Carolina picks up the tab. (I called to find out.) She also gave us a dermatology referral and doctor to do John's second colonoscopy. After my second one, I got put on the 10-year plan.
We had neighbors across and behind us to bring by sweets for the holidays. Unfortunately, we ate them all before our healthy dinner. That's why we try not to have sweets in the house. We have no will power.
'Tis the season!

I never underestimate the importance of sleep. The best pet of my retirement is no alarm. My usual wake up time is 7:30-8:00 unless I have to wake at 4:00 am for pain meds for Gail. If that happens I always have to go back to sleep. Sleep is the most important thing g to successfully navigate this world.
