We enjoyed a beautiful but cold walk on the causeway this morning.
It never did get to 60 degrees, so today is our 11th day of winter. It was 50 degrees when we walked on the causeway this morning.
This sculpture is a piece of the Twin Towers salvaged from the debris after the terrorist attack on 9/11/2001. It's on display outside of the Dunedin Fire Station in memory of the firefighters who lost their lives that day and in the days following.
We took in the memorial while walking Toby this afternoon at the Arts Center.
The temperature got up to 55 degrees this afternoon.
There is new construction near the beginning of the drawbridge.
The picture shows it will be luxury town homes with parking underneath.
For lunch we had a tuna fish sandwich made with white bean hummus and roasted garlic (Lantana brand), the closest mayonnaise substitute I can think of. It's white and creamy and tastes good. The fruit bowl had apples, pears, oranges, blueberries and peach yogurt.
One of several neighborhood walks.
Nice bougainvillea blooms for February.
For dinner, we split a Grande Burrito from Juan's.
I saw John watering the grass in the backyard and thought that was
weird. That's not something he would do, mainly because we have an irrigation system that waters automatically three times per week with reclaimed water. A few minutes later, he was
playing with Toby with his flirt pole in the same spot. When they came
in, I asked him what was going on. He said that he wet the grass to
clean Toby's feet while he was playing with the flirt pole. I have to
admit that I didn't think that would work, so I looked at Toby's paws
and sure enough they were all pink. I never would have thought to do that.

Enjoyed the art structure from the twin tower. John is a good parent. I LOVED the bougainvillea. I bought one last year but disappointed in the performance. The Highland wind kept blowing the blooms off. I am winterizing it in the garage. Plan to put it on the patio IF the weather ever permits. Love Toby/cuddle time. Busy day here. I saw an item Joan had on her grocery list that I could not find at walmart but found today at FLion. When I took it to her she told me about a horrible night she had last night with Ralph. She had to call Hospice at 2:00 am. I baked a coconut cake (his favorite) for Alan’s birthday. I went back and sat with JOAN until Hospice returned this afternoon. Ralph’s death is slow and very ugly. Sorry I kept jumping around tonight.
