Monday

Our yard is bursting in color with the warm weather.

One of our neighbors recently moved to Mease Life in downtown Dunedin, so we decided to go take a tour.

It's a comprehensive continuing care facility that offers apartments for independent living, assisted living, and a memory care unit, each segregated with its own dining facility.

The building was built in 1965, so the outside is not much to look at. But they've done a good job renovating the inside.

The balconies are amazing. We could see the water from the 9th floor.

The balconies are screened in.

The finishes are really nice.

But the rooms are small. Most of the units are just over 800 sq. feet, about the size of our last apartment at Cameron Court. They have 1200 sq. foot units, but they require being on a waiting list for 2-3 years. They are also getting ready to build two more buildings on the site that will have larger units. They plan to complete those in 2023.

The floors were porcelain made to look like wood planks.

It reminded us of a nice hotel.

It was an interesting tour. I'm glad we went. Something like this or a condominium we'll consider when we get tired of taking care of a house. The tour guide assured us that they do not discriminate. We would only need to be 62 or over and qualify financially.

I spent some time at the outdoor gym on the way home from the Mease tour. John rode on home to take care of Toby. It got up to 80 degrees this afternoon.

We rode our bikes out to the causeway this morning for our walk. Frenchy's is opening a seafood market across from their restaurant on Causeway Boulevard.

The required Toby picture for the day.

On our morning walk, it was 70 degrees with 0 wind, a perfect day to go kayaking.

Today's bike route to the beginning of the causeway and to Mease downtown

Miles walked: 10
Miles biked: 12.68

  2. Your flora are beautiful. I had to take back to the garage the plants I put out last week. It will get down to 47 tonight. We walked at the Art’s Ctr this morning. I have a dermatology appt tomorrow afternoon.

  3. It’s so easy to accumulate walking miles here. The only serious walk is our 4-mile morning walk on the causeway. A few Toby walks and it all adds up quickly and easily.
