Saturday

Our walk this morning on the causeway was a bit chilly, with winds blowing about 10 mph in the 64 degree weather. It eventually got up to 66 when the sun came out.

It was mostly cloudy for much of the day.

The hearty zumba class was working out on the causeway this morning.

The hibiscus are in full bloom.

Toby's friend on the golf course saw him and turned his wheel barrow over and came down to the street to say hi. He ended up giving John a set of golf clubs. He said he had 10 sets and didn't need them all. That meant we had to walk through the neighborhood carrying a set of golf clubs, which brought out all the golfers to strike up a conversation about golf. I think between the two of us, we've played two rounds of par 3 golf, not counting goofy golf, which when I think about it is a good description of our golfing abilities. Oh well. We helped the man de-clutter his garage and add to the stuff in ours.

We checked out the bridge over Curlew Creek as we waited for a dog with issues to pass before resuming our walk.

Toby is learning to navigate bridges. The metal ones scare him because of the sound, but this one he did well on. The metal ones in Hammock Park are a challenge. I don't think he'll ever try the causeway drawbridge again. It's loud and it moves.

We split a Juan's Mexican Grill burrito for dinner.

Yuki passed us on one of our walks stuffed into a backpack while Stephen was on his bike. I wish I had gotten a picture of that. All you could see was Yuki's head poking out of the top. So cute!

Toby is 9 months old today. We took him to the vet this week to have him officially weighed so we could order his flea and tick and heart worm medicine. He weighed 51 lbs., only gaining 2 pounds in the last month, which means he's not likely to get much bigger.

We were so tired after lunch, we took an hour and a half nap. It was too cool to bike, and I think we needed the rest.

Miles walked: 9.1
Miles biked: 0

  2. A set of golf clubs. Who gets a free set of clubs? That man’s smile made me happy.

    Loved the colorful hibiscus.

  3. So cute! I'm thinking about getting a dog, but I'm anxious about being a good dog mom. I will keep reading your posts for inspiration!
