Thursday

Toby insisted on taking a break on his morning walk. He must wonder why we are always in such a hurry, no wallowing in the grass, sniffing poop, chomping on sticks or nothing. Weird breed of dogs, he must think.

Here's Toby classic dog greeting pose--from our last walk tonight. He spotted Trudy a block away, hunkered down, and refused to budge.

Score!
I don't think Trudy’s owner was intending on walking this far, but how could she resist Toby's patient, longing look?

Her decision made a good puppy very happy.

It wasn't long before Trudy's inner puppy came out and it was . . . Game on!

They played hard while the sun's glare signaled the end of the day was nigh.

We took Toby to the community center for his afternoon puppy mania walk before his dinner.

He liked his trailer ride home better than he liked the ride to the park, probably because he was tired and knew that dinner wasn't far away.

We're trying to keep him out of the sun as much as possible because of his lack of skin pigment and thin coat, so we followed the shade trees into Hammock Park.

The temperature was mostly in the 70s all day. It may have gotten up to 80 briefly.

The temperature was in the upper 60s for our morning walk on the causeway, so we took our bikes to the bridge and then walked. A bike ride is a great way to begin the day!

Or standing in the sound makes for a good beginning, too.

We were starving for dinner, so we each ordered a burrito from Jaun's Mexican Grill on Main. No sharing tonight.

A neighbor had a bounty of oranges and brought us some.

I raked leaved before Mas Fina comes in the morning.

Our bike route to the causeway and the community center.

This afternoon I plunged into our LED accent light project, replacing old, worn out florescent lights. I removed one of the old ones and discovered some logistical issues (always issues). John helped me think through solutions, but then I remembered this article I read about there being 5 different ways to upgrade florescent lights with LED lights. Since this approach was leading to a Pandora's box of issues, I decided to back up and consider one of the other options. I'm currently doing research. We may return these fixtures and buy LED bulbs that fit into existing fixtures once a little wiring modifications are made (e.g., removing the existing ballasts). I re-installed the existing fixture so that we could turn the power back on for the ceiling fan. It was a good trial run. They worked--well 4 out of 5 worked, but the one that didn't work I didn't even touch. Not me. Just a dying light.

It's going to be easy once I get the right parts. I think.

Miles walked: 10.7
Miles biked: 7.88

  1. Good luck on the continued light project. I had a great day. I was on the patio almost all morning. .......without a coat. Enjoyed Toby waiting on his dog friend. I loved the warm sun today.
