This image says that the pandemic may be ending: a group of unrelated musicians gathered together to play music. The violins gave them a bluegrass vibe. The scene is outside Al Fresco's and The Beach Company store.
After lunch we loaded Toby in the car and drove to Weaver Park and then walked downtown. We sat down and listened and watched people for a bit.
Toby enjoyed all the passing dogs.
On the walk back, I spotted The Victoria Condominiums from the Pinellas Trail, the place my parents have chosen for their upcoming stay to see how they feel about condo living in Dunedin. This image above is Jackson Street at the trail. It runs east/west and dead ends in St. Joseph's Sound, right at the condos.
I zoomed in to show the covered parking and a corner of the building.
Bon Apatite, at the end of the Dunedin Marina, is .5 miles from the condo, about a 10 minute walk.
Hot Dogs on Main is .7 miles from the condo, about a 15 minute walk.
The
Dunedin History Museum, at the intersection of the Pinellas Trail and
Main Street, is .6 miles from the condo, about a 12 minute walk. The
museum is definitely worth a look. You could spend 30 minutes easily or
hours if you wanted to. There's a lot to see.
The
Fenway Hotel is a little less than a mile from the condo, about an 18
minute walk. It's on Edgewater Drive (Alt. 19). Across the street is
Hubbard Park which runs alongside the water all the way to Clearwater.
It's a 2-mile walk (one way) from the condo to Clearwater and would make for a great
early morning walk (not a lot of shade), about 40 minutes one way.
Home
Plate restaurant is 1.2 miles from the condo, about a 25 minute walk via the Pinellas Trail.
The Dunedin Public Library is across the street from Home Plate, 1.4
miles from the condo, about a 28 minute walk.
To
the north, Hammock Park is 1.3 miles via the Pinellas Trail, about a 25
minute walk. The new raised walkway for the Fern Trail is awesome with beautiful benches for resting and viewing ferns and wildlife.
On
a bit further is the Covered Bridge Restaurant, about 1.7 miles from
the condo via the Pinellas Trail, about a 34 minute walk.
Florida moss, an especially clean clump.
Weaver Park is .2 miles from The Victoria Condominiums, about a 4 minute walk. That's where the outdoor gym is located. I shared it with one other person today. Across the street is Weaver Pier, a great place to watch July 4th fireworks and sunsets.
If you don't find that enticing, you might be interested to know that Eli's BBQ is .3 miles from the condo, about a 7 minute walk. Eli's is at the intersection of Skinner and the Pinellas Trail.
I am very grateful for this amenity. Who couldn't love exercising while watching folks pass by on the Pinellas Trail or watching boats go by in St. Joseph's Sound? There's always something to look at while resting.
Weaver Park is about 2.5 miles from our house, about a 13 minute bike ride. I rode my bike to exercise at the gym while John was on a phone call. He joined me later and we rode our bikes to Main Street.
It was warm enough on our morning causeway walk to go in short sleeves--about 66 degrees--but we did drive to the bridge. The water was clear.
Winds were light.
The sky was mostly sunny.
Toby had a rough night last night. He ate a handful size piece of an old wool blanket and some of the satin trim; we found out later when he threw it up this morning. But last night, he felt terrible. He was crying and couldn't get settled. We were pretty sure it was something he ate because he was eating grass (that's how dogs throw up) yesterday at Wall Springs Park. He threw up once at the park, but it was just clear liquid and grass.
We were up pretty late trying to decide what to do. We fed him hoping that would make his throw up, but that didn't work and grazing on the grass in the backyard didn't help. He settled down enough for us to get some sleep, but he was crying again at 3:00 a.m. After about 30 minutes, he wore himself out and went back to sleep.
Soon after John fed him at 5:00 a.m., he threw up his breakfast and revealed the problem. I'm glad we didn't have to take him to the emergency vet. He seems to feel much better today. All systems are functioning as intended.
The blanket has been taken out of commission.
We had tuna steaks, turnips, and rice for dinner.
Today's bike route to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park and beyond to downtown Dunedin.
Miles walked: 9.6
Miles biked: 6.64

Thanks for the options in Dunedin as it relates to the condo. Very exciting. Hope Toby, you and John will have a better night’s sleep.
