The water under the tidal bridge was such a beautiful shade of green this morning, and the water was so clear you can see this pelican’s feet paddling.
There was a huge group of kayakers on their way to Caladesi Island. The temperature was in the mid-70s with low humidity. Winds were about 7 mph, pretty good for kayaking.
Skies were very clear.
We rode our bikes for our causeway walk and then stopped at Publix on the way home for fresh food.
Lunch was awesome. Veggie/fruit bowl: naval orange, peach yogurt, cottage cheese, broccoli, cucumber, red grapes, beets, red cabbage, pickles, blueberries, and balsamic vinaigrette.
Turkey & Swiss with spinach and artichoke hummus, tomato, and lettuce on toast.
We took a short nap after lunch, then I headed to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park. I cut through Highlander and Hammock Parks and then rode on the side streets parallel to the Pinellas Trail. Cedar Creek, on the right, flows through Hammock Park and out to the sound.
No name pond on Paloma
John joined me at the gym after a while and together we rode on the Pinellas Trail towards Clearwater and then back along Edgewater Park.
We passed TD Stadium where the Toronto Blue Jays were playing a Major League Baseball game. Cars were parked everywhere and we could hear the roar of the crowd as we passed. That’s pretty cool for a small town of 35,000 people.
Toby playing softly but carrying a big stick.
A cashier at Publix came up to John to say she saw him last Monday at the beach with Toby (Yes, I was there, too, but went unnoticed apparently.) She remembered him because of his hair, she said. Famous hair.
Today’s bike routes to the causeway, Publix, Highlander and Hammock Parks, Weaver Park, Pinellas Trail to Alt-19, and Edgewater Park
I repaired an a/c vent that had come loose from the ceiling, and I started thinking up a way to rig Toby’s trailer so he can ride with the roof peeled back. He’s a bit large to ride enclosed. We passed a standard poodle in a Burley trailer like ours that had been modified for him to ride standing up with his head through the top. Amazon has cargo nets that I think will work. I also replaced the batteries in John’s bike’s headlight and got it working again.
