We took the day off from walking and went shopping. We got some new sheets with embroidered flamingos and another aqua set with starfish. When you live on the water, the stores stock a lot of coastal merchandise.

We got some new pillows, so I was finally able to fill the shams properly.
John liked this painting. I told him that I could paint him one just like it; now I have to do it. The hardest part would be painting the letters. Maybe he will like it without “Florida” on it?

The bow tie has raised Toby’s IQ 20 points, at least. We can’t decide if it makes him look like an old-school Republican, like George Will, or a college professor.
We took a quick bike ride south on the Pinellas Trail mid afternoon. It was 82 degrees and sunny.
Lake Saundra was smooth as glass on our last walk of the day.
Toby got to meet a pit bull and a really, really old dog. They were behind an invisible fence. Normally, we just walk by, but the owners were out and let us know they were friendly and would enjoy meeting Toby. The dogs were so happy to sniff and play, especially the old dog who could hardly walk with a dip in his spine, but still managed to lift a paw to Toby. We breathed a sigh of relief as we walked away that the old dog didn’t get knocked down.
