We all took it easy today.
This is Toby's classic manuever: First, he spots a dog.
Then he lays down in the street and points his body in the direction of the approaching dog.
If it's their first encounter, John and the other dog walker will talk about what's going on and what Toby wants.
Once both humans confirm that their dogs are friendly, the other dog approaches Toby, who remains calm and in the down position.
Eventually, Toby will stand up and sniff, but only after he has convinced the other dog that he is not a threat.
We drove Toby to the community center in the heat of the afternoon to find a shaded walk.
The temperature was in the low 80s.
Toby loves this field of short grass. He never passes without first rolling around.
We split an order of egg foo yung from New Bamboo for dinner. A neighbor brought us a slice of cake, and because of John's diet, I ended up eating it all by myself.

Enjoyed Toby stories. A nice visit with Julie/Bert today. This visit has been good to be with Pam. Mike is back here.
