Sunday

Happy birthday, Toby!!
1 year old today

He was turned in to the Defuniak Springs Sheriff’s animal control office on September 11, 2020. He weighed 22.5 lbs. He was a little over 13 weeks old when he was rescued by Paw Print Hearts in Tampa. He and a car load of friends traveled by van to Ocala and then Tampa where he was put up for adoption and lived with a foster family.

He was sent out for adoption once before we got him. Apparently, the family with a small child had second thoughts.

We loved him immediately, though it took him a while to bond with us. He scratched at the door and cried when his foster mom left. He was about 16 weeks old.

Enjoy the baby pictures.

The skies of North Carolina took a vacation to Florida today. It’s been overcast.

Because of the red tide, we avoided the causeway and beaches and rode our bikes.

We rode our bikes to the Coastal Trail at Wall Springs Park and then on to the sponge docks of Tarpon Springs.

We saw this huge fishing boat at dry dock.

Temperatures were in the mid 80s and the wind was blowing 10 mph from the south. The trip back from Tarpon was a challenge.

We stopped at the Dunn Water Reclamation Facility to take a break and get chilled water.

We haven’t been to Tarpon in a while.

We took a shortcut through a park.

The downtown portion of the Pinellas Trail in Tarpon Springs had yellow flowers alongside.

John took this picture of a dragonfly.

A sightseeing boat was heading out to the gulf. Tarpon reminds me of Key West when it comes to the commercial district and tourists.

Our flowers.

We walked by the Yard of the Season on our last walk of the day. Great house. Great yard.

Today’s bike route to Wall Springs Park (Coastal Trail) and Tarpon Springs

Miles walked: 5.6
Miles biked: 24.45
