Monday

The morning was overcast again, thanks to TS Fred, but it made for a very pleasant walk on the causeway. The temperature was in the upper 70s and the wind was blowing at 11 mph.

The kids kept stealing the sign attached to the railing, so Dunedin Public Works tried this arrangement. It is a cool sign. I can see why someone would want to steal it.

My vision of retirement was to go to the grocery store every day and get fresh food. That’s a luxury that we couldn’t afford with the work week grind. Today’s fruit and veggie bowl: strawberry yogurt, apples, tangelos, beets, carrots, broccoli, red grapes, cottage cheese, blueberries, and blueberries.

I drove to Weaver Park for the outdoor gym today since the forecast called for heavy thunderstorms in the middle of the afternoon.

Toby’s exercising his brain, trying to find the treats.

Toby was snuggling with me this morning.

He’s had a better day today. We’ve used the crate to give him periodic breaks, so he can nap and so we can have breaks.

One of the frustrating things about him is that his cues are all the same: play, eat, pee, poop, sleep. Whenever he has one of these needs, he will annoy us until we figure it out. If we don’t, he starts stealing our things and running through the house.

This evening we were playing fetch in the backyard when Toby spotted a bunny and took off running to the front yard. Lots of drama. We eventually corralled him, and the bunny got away. I think we need to rethink getting a fence.
